Cleaning Method of Print Head Blockage

Classification of "plug" of inkjet printer: it can be roughly divided into the soft plug and hard plug.

Repair of soft plug:

1. Soft plug plugging refers to the broken line fault caused by the increase of ink viscosity on the nozzle due to various reasons. Sometimes it is only attached to the surface of the ink outlet nozzle. Generally, it can be recovered by dipping in the original ink and cleaning many times. Its advantages are simple and fast operation without any physical damage; The disadvantage is that the use cost is high and ink is wasted.

2. Use the print head cleaning function in the application tool of the printer driver to clean. Its advantages are simple and fast operation; The disadvantage is that the cleaning effect is not ideal.

Matters needing attention:

1. Generally, the above two cleaning methods should not be more than three times. When the "plug" of the printer is not serious, it should be flushed out within three times. If it still cannot be flushed three times, it indicates that the plug is serious, and no matter how many times it is cleaned, it may not be effective, and it is meaningless to romantic many expensive inks. At this time, further treatment should be made according to the specific situation;

2. Because there will be "air resistance" between the ink cartridge (such as a sponge-filled type) and the print head, a small amount of irregular disconnection will occur. At this time, it is not necessary to wash it repeatedly. After placing it for some time, restart it and it can be used normally;

3. Never mix ink. Do not rush to add new ink to the cartridge. First, inhale some ink with a clean disposable syringe and carefully observe it in a bright place to see if there is any suspended matter in the ink. If there is any suspended matter, it cannot be mixed. Then inhale a little ink from the used ink cartridge, mix it with the newly purchased ink, and then observe it after standing for 24 hours to see whether the mixed ink has a chemical reaction. If there is a change (such as crystallization, etc.), it indicates that the compatibility of the two inks is not good, and do not mix them!

Repair of hard plug:

A hard plug refers to the plug caused by chemical solidification or impurities in the nozzle. It is difficult to eliminate this fault. At this time, the following two methods can be used to solve it.

1. Immersion method

Scope of application: light blockage

Necessary tools: 95% alcohol, a clean cup, and a metal container with a smooth bottom

Working principle: dissolve the ink particles one by one with a medium-strength organic solvent. Note that 95% concentration of organic solvent alcohol must be used, otherwise it will backfire.

Solution: first find a metal container with a smooth bottom, and add a little organic solvent alcohol of 95% concentration into the container. The alcohol is limited to just covering the stainless steel edge of the print head (be careful not to let the PCB board come into contact with alcohol). The soaking time generally ranges from 2 hours to 4 days. Its advantages are good cleaning effect and not easy to cause physical damage to the print head; The disadvantage is that it takes a long time to solve the urgent needs of users.

2. Pressure cleaning method

Scope of application: heavy blockage

Necessary tools: 95% alcohol, a clean cup, a disposable syringe, and a disposable infusion set.

Working principle: use the pressure generated by the siphoning effect of the syringe to inject alcohol, an organic solvent, into the print head, to clean the dried ink head.

Solution: use the plastic tube or needle part of a disposable infusion set to make the interface between the syringe and the ink supply port of the print head (the joint part must be tight). After the interface is made, but the print head into the organic solvent alcohol with a concentration of 95%, inhale the alcohol through the print head (note that it can only be inhaled) into the syringe needle, and inhale it several times. Its advantage is its good cleaning effect. Generally, the print head with a heavy blockage can be cleaned by this method. It is worth noting that when inhaling alcohol, you should apply force evenly and coherently, which generally will not cause physical damage.
