5 Reasons for Printer Nozzle Blockage

July 27,2022

  1. The most common blocking method is that the ink accumulated in the printer nozzle will block the outside of the nozzle to a certain extent. Because UV ink is a volatile liquid, it is easy to react and solidify with ultraviolet light in the sun in the air. Especially when the printing height of the nozzle from the material is larger, this situation is more likely to happen. But the spray hole outside the nozzle is easy to clean.

  1. The piezoelectric crystal inside the nozzle is damaged, which makes the nozzle unable to spray ink. The service life of a piezoelectric nozzle can be several months, one year, or two. When purchasing equipment, the manufacturer usually tells the customer.

  1. Fatigue damage of piezoelectric crystal: the phenomenon is that the nozzle sprays ink, sometimes not. Especially in large dot inkjet printing, the phenomenon of "blockage" is obvious. At this time, the best way is to replace the nozzle with a new one.

  1. Ink free due to clogging of nozzle filter: when the nozzle is used for a long time, especially when the printing task is often terminated, and then printing after some time, the ink does not flow in the nozzle for a long time, which is easy to be absorbed by the internal filter or the ink channel wall. In this way, the flow of ink will also cause the nozzle cross-sectional area to become smaller and ink free. There is no need to worry about this situation. Just clean or replace the filter in time.

  1. In the actual printing process, because some colors do not need to be painted, or the temperature of the nozzle increases when it is used, the static ink will dry and caked on the nozzle wall. If it is not cleaned in time, the drying effect is relatively strong, and the nozzle may not be blocked. When it is found that the nozzle is blocked, it should be cleaned immediately. For colors that do not need to be printed, color bars can be printed on both sides of the pattern to solve the blockage problem.

PRINTER NOZZLE

The solution to ink accumulation in printer nozzles

Ink will accumulate on the surface of the nozzle after the printer works for a long time if it is not cleaned in time. The nozzle will be blocked over time. So how to solve the problem of ink accumulation in the nozzle?

  1. Large ink output - wipe clean after printing

When the printer chooses to print a large amount of ink, a small amount of ink will accumulate on the surface of the nozzle. After printing, clean it.

  1. Floating ink - reduce the printing height of the printer

The spray force of different types of nozzles is different. In the production model, some nozzles have a printing height of 3mm, some have a printing height of 2mm, etc. at this time, it is necessary to reduce the printing height of the printer nozzle.

  1. Ink dripping - adjust the negative pressure back to the normal range

When the negative pressure of the printer is too low, it will cause the ink to drip from the nozzle. At this time, it is necessary to adjust the negative pressure back to the normal range, which can be used by software or manually. However, it is worth noting that the negative pressure values of equipment from different manufacturers are different. Before adjustment, learn the parameters of negative pressure values from relevant personnel.

  1. Foreign matters - wipe the nozzle clean

Due to the dust and other problems in the workshop, foreign matters will fall on the surface of the printer nozzle. In this case, wipe it clean.
